1% for the planet
Origin story
1% for the planetOne Percent for the Planet was founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard (Patagonia) and Craig Mathews (Blue Ribbon Flies) after deciding businesses should give back for using the Earth’s resources. Members pledge 1% of annual sales—not profits—to environmental causes. Since then, companies worldwide have joined, contributing over $808 million to environmental nonprofits, all driven by the principle: commit first, then figure it out. 20 Years later, Cortazu is proud to be part of this movement. |
